This is the doll quilt I made for Tammy who lives south of Calgary which is not too far from here as we drove it in one day last summer. However, it seemed to take quite a bit of time to get there and had me worried for a while when we were on vacation for a week and I didn't always have a connection to my email.
It's made from a bundle of indigos I bought at a quilt show which needed special washing before use, so it languished in my stash for some time.
I found myself checking out the quilts in many of my books to find just the right blue and white design. The amount of fabric I had was very limited (a fat 1/8th of each blue) so that also influenced my choice.
There is machine quilting around the blocks and I hand quilted the windows and border.
The binding was finished and I added the label on our screened porch, something that I love to do in the summer since it's so relaxing on a nice day.
Finally here's a picture of the label I made for the back. What a fun project for all involved! I hope you have many lovely days this summer and enjoy stitching in the outdoors!
